The BANTU Collection is based in Pittsburgh, PA. The business started out as an idea in 2015 and came to fruition in 2018. From day one, our mission has been to introduce uniquely beautiful, ethically sourced, handcrafted, artisan made home goods and personal accessories. Our goal is to share the beauty of African trends, decor, and accessories with our customers. We believe in providing exposure for African artisans, independent designers, and women owned small businesses. We want to show that African styles include a wide range of art and designs, and that Africa is more than just “Ankara” or African prints. The owner and creative director of The BANTU Collection was born to an Congolese mother and American father, and lived in Morocco, Burkina Faso, and Congo before moving back to the U.S. permanently. Because of her direct connection and her fondness for Africa, she meticulously chooses beautiful products with purpose. We’re based in Pittsburgh, PA. Who is our customer? All of our products are custom or bespoke, or artisan made home & kitchen accessories and decor, and personal accessories.
Where are your products from?
We specialize in African imports. Our products are 100% made in Africa only! We work with supplies who buy directly from the local artisans, or with small, independent designers who work with local women to provide employment and opportunities for their communities.
Do you offer any other services?
Yes we do! If you are looking to design your home, we can assist you with locating product from Africa. Whether you are looking for furniture, art, or lampshades and hangings, etc; all you have to do is contact us on our website to inquire about consulting services. Once we find the type design elements you are seeking, we would send you the images and other details. Customer is responsible for costs and shipping prior to ordering.
